High tension in Enugu as Unidentified policemen assaulted an Army officer
According a report from Vanguard, Tension is mounting high among the police and army personnel in Enugu, following the assault on the Provost Group Commander, 82 Division, Nigerian Army, Enugu, Colonel Dan Walang, by some unidentified policemen.
The incident, according to sources, occurred at GRA, Enugu, last Tuesday night.
The provost was said to have been beating to a pulp by the policemen believed to be on patrol duty.
He was reportedly driving with a lady when he had a disagreement with the policemen.
“It was not clear the score the Army Officer had to settle with the policemen but it was like a case of mistaken identity,” said the source.
It was learnt that the assault on the army colonel was severe that he was rushed to the military hospital where he is now being treated.
Col. Hamza Gambo, Public Relations Officer, 82 Division, confirmed it when contacted yesterday that the officer was assaulted, adding that the matter had been formally reported to the police authorities.
